Locked to Murder Nations

( Sunday afternoon, after the incentives and lists have gone up, the nations meet.

The bed is unfixed and there are some clothes hanging around which gives it a cluttered appearance but otherwise, Spain's room in Emerald Wing doesn't appear to be in bad shape.

Closing the door behind them, he'll rush around the sitting area, tossing the clothes onto the bed and into the cabinet carelessly. He'll also leave the liquor cabinet open with several glasses on top. From the looks of it, he's been using it himself.

It only takes a few seconds for him to make his last minute preparations and then he cuts straight to the point. )

N-no one's going to go for them, right? Especially after this week, we would probably end up being too suspicious.

I never worry about the past. What's done is done and I'd rather focus on tomorrow.

It's a blessing. ( After all, he certainly had a lot to be grateful and happy for all of these centuries and habits die hard. ) At my house, we have a saying that goes "en la mañana." In English, it means "in the morning" or "tomorrow."

But for us, it means as long as the sun rises, there will always be a tomorrow. So why worry about things that have been done and things that can wait until another day, you know?

[He smiles a little but it's still solemn]

But what if there isn't tomorrow? That's the risk of being here.

Well, that's something you can choose to worry about now or later, I guess.

( Talk about a grim smile now because even Spain knows this sounds pretty ridiculous, )

Since whether or not there is a tomorrow is partially influenced by my actions today I don't really have a choice.

( Spain would be pretty content to leave the subject hanging as it is but that does trigger something, )

[He freezes up and averts his gaze to the size]

I-I suppose... But it's probably for all the wrong reasons.

... Considering that the only reason I was popular was probably because I nearly threw a tantrum in there I don't think so.

Immunity seems to be reserved for the people who help most with the case, if anything I made things worse. So I really don't think it's something I deserve.

Could it save Ukraine?

I-I'm not sure... It says to correct a mistake or right a wrong but it sounds like it's something that would only affect the culprit. Even if one of us got the chance to re-vote It would still only be a draw...

[But he really did wish there was something he could do. Taking one life just to save another didn't seem like something that Ukraine would approve of]

I'm still doubtful they can really change the past, personally.

How large a budget would this show have to have, even assuming it's possible at all?

It must be pretty large if they can get away with something like this...

Killing people on television has to be illegal. They must be paying millions to get people to look the other way.

Maybe it's not illegal wherever we are? [Lithuania still isn't clear on that.] Or maybe the audience doesn't realize this is real at all.

But for all this talk of an audience I haven't noticed any cameras.

I don't care about the past there's definitely nothing in it that I regret enough, but um. Asking something like that... Does that mean that if one of us is provided an incentive we can't refuse that you expect we're gonna like.

Just agree to let each other get away with it and help condemn someone else? ...Is that even allowed?

We don't deserve to get away with our murders any more than anyone else, as long as our people aren't involved. None of the people here deserve to be sacrificed any more than we deserve it.

...And an agreement like that would cause problems any time more than one of us is a suspect, like you and Miss Ukraine were last week.

There's nothing in the rules forbidding it...

All it says is that the one most directly involved with the murder is rewarded.

B-But I was just wondering. If such an incentive were to come up... I don't know.

That would count as acting as an accomplice, though, probably. I wouldn't feel right knowingly letting anyone get away with murdering someone, though.

It wouldn't be fair to the others here if we agreed to a thing like that. I want to get out of here as much as everyone else and I'll do whatever I can but... I want to do it the way my people would want me to. If I'm going to represent them, I want to be the best I can be for them, you know?

( He can't let his own people disapprove of his actions or have other nations looking down on his people because of him. )
